Desktop Garage - Data Driven Concept (2002)
Desktop Garage is a software concept created in March 2002 while at the Art Institute of Seattle. Desktop Garage is an automotive customization system with modular organization, real-time performance evaluation, and interactive visual tools.
The specification describes customizable interfaces allowing modifications to engines, transmissions, wheels, tires, and performance components. Features include real-time visualization of component changes, performance metrics comparisons ("before and after"), integrated file management (Save, Load, Export), compliance with safety and regulatory constraints, and interactive tools such as a dynamic paint feature.
The modular and hierarchical data structures documented in this specification were developed concurrently with the related spec shown in the comprehensive2002 SixspeedMedia specification.
The documentation is available in the Desktop Garage Specification Document (PDF).
